Four smaller narrative scenes surround the central figure, depicting the 1531 apparitions to Saint Juan Diego.

The frame is a beautifully aged gesso-on-wood construction with detailed floral motifs and red underpainting. The piece measures 17 inches wide by 23 inches tall, and 1 inch deep, with signs of natural age including minor staining and cracking, consistent with its vintage character.
