Pottery marked with the USA mark was made in California although there were many manufacturers which used this mark rendering it almost impossible to determine the actual maker. Between 1914 and 1918 many companies thought it patriotic to use USA on their products. Around the early 1940s, the US Government passed a law requiring all imported goods to be marked with their country of origin. All unmarked pottery was then thought to be made here.
